The Inter-Club Council is the head of all clubs at Myers Park. An elected student heads it and they become part of the Student Government Association. The ICC Chairperson's job is to meet with each ICC representative, usually the president of each club, and give them a monthly calendar telling them when they're club should meet. Also the ICC Chair is responsible for campus clean up and ICC carnivals. Campus Clean up is when all club members come to Myers Park on a Saturday morning from 9-11am to clean up the campus. This is also the time to learn and join clubs as well as gain service hours. The ICC Carnival is when each club at Myers Park sets up a booth and tries to raise money for their club. This usually occurs during all three lunches and is a lot of fun for everyone.

Free the Planet is a nationwide organization fighting against polluter lawlessness and government inaction in environmental issues. The club at Myers Park has held protests against Staples Office Supply Company and has worked to clean up and to stop invasive plant growth in the natural areas around our school. We have worked with STAND to bring speakers such as Julia Butterfly Hill to Myers Park and have cooperated with other nationally known environmental activists. As a member of Free the Planet you will exercise your right to speak out against the world's ignorance towards the environment in which we live and take action to alert people of the damage they cause everyday.

Photo Club
A new club this year, photo club exists to expose aspiring photographers to the photography community in Charlotte and teach basic skills about how to use the darkroom, camera, and studio. Anyone is eligible to be a member, but the club is designed for those people who were not able to be in the photo class because much of the skills and events will also happen in there.

French Club
French club is for people who are in French class, and attempts to extend the cultural education beyond the classroom. We eat French food, celebrate French holidays, and see French art, including modern films. Anyone in French class is eligible for membership.

The Red Cross Club is a very large club. Each year membership ranges from 100 active members to 300 active members. This club is a great opportunity for students to meet other classmates as well as serve their community. The club meets at least once every month for either a service project or briefs. Each year the Red Cross Club hosts two blood drives in the Myers Park Auditorium. One in the Fall and one in the early Spring. With enthusiasm growing in students to help their community and world, this club becomes a stepping stone to helping students realize that.."Together, we can save a life."

CYC (Committed Young Christians)
Is Myers Park's on-campus Christian youth organization centered on God, fellowship, and fun. Formerly called First Priority, CYC holds meetings every Thursday consisting of worship, Bible discussions, games, prayer, and fun. While each meeting is not mandatory, those who wish to become members are required to attend one meeting per month. Anyone and everyone are welcome to join the club as a member or to visit when they please. CYC involves itself in optional service projects outside of the meetings and is Myers Park's coordinator of the annual Operation Christmas Child box collection. The club is connected to similar CYC clubs at other high schools in the Charlotte area and helps to organize campus events such as See You at the Pole. Dues are only $4.00 and help to pay for pizza parties and other small CYC events throughout the year.

G.L.O.B.A.L. is an international club that stands for Gregarious, Learning, Open-Minded, Boundless, Amiable, and Lively. Mona Mohajerani and I (Setu Raval) wanted to start a club that was made for both minorities and majorities. Each month we focus on a particular region of the world and have guest speakers and/or student speakers to present about that region. These student speakers educate, sing, dance, and bring lots of wonderful items and foods from their countries to present to the club. Along with our monthly meetings we go out to dinner to a restaurant according to the region we are studying. This is an amazing way to educate high school students about different countries; it works towards eliminating stereotypes, and offers a very fun experience. We learned about Hispanic countries, India, Israel, East Asia, Iran, Greece, Eastern and Western Europe, and many more! This year (2002-2003) was our first year with this club; we had 50 active members and accomplished a lot.

Sailing club
Is a somewhat a new club to the MP family, only three years old we have a committed number of students involved. We do everything from sailing competitions to collecting books for our Students Against Ill-Literacy (SAIL). We compete against many other schools in the south east traveling from Tennessee to Florida and have done very well, usually placing in the top 4. If you are interested in cookouts and trips to the lake then Sailing Club is a good one for you.

NAHS (National Art Honor Society) at Myers Park
Students applying for membership into NAHS must maintain a "B" average in their respective art class (crafts, art, or photography) and be at least a sophomore. NAHS members are inducted in a formal ceremony and take part in various events throughout the school year, including pumpkin carving, pottery painting, dinners, museum visits, and school functions. The executive board consists of president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and chairmen, all voted into their positions by the members of NAHS. All members of NAHS are encouraged to be involved in art-related events in the community, like volunteering at local museums, entering art competitions, and immersing themselves in the Charlotte-area art scene. NAHS at Myers Park is always looking for new members to contribute ideas and creativity! Anyone interested in joining National Art Honor Society at Myers Park should apply at the beginning of the school year through their art instructor.

The Battle of the Bands
The Battle of the Bands is a club that is devoted to exhibiting Myers Park's talented bands as well as providing a place for Myers Park students who appreciate music to meet. This club has put on 2 very successful Battle of the Bands to raise money for respectable charities. In each of the past 2 years, the Battle of the Bands event has raised more than $1000 dollars per event. The Battle of the Band club is intent on providing opportunities for young musicians to share their talents and next year we will begin planning monthly events for Myers Park students to showcase their talents as well as for Myers Park students to enjoy musical entertainment. The Myers Park Battle of the Bands Club is not only a group for the musically talented but rather it is a club for anyone who appreciates music. We invite all students who enjoy music to join our club in the coming year and next year will be the best year ever.

The Young Democrats Club at Myers Park High School gives students who are interested in politics an opportunity to express their political views. We organize debates between other politically affiliated clubs, work for various candidates, help out with Kids Voting, and this past year we participated in the Youth Instititute of Political Leadership. It's a great way to get involved in government even if you can't vote yet!

Interact is a service club sponsored by a chapter of Rotary International. The club is designed to create and carry out a variety of service projects throughout the school year. Recently Interact sponsored a campus-wide food drive in which we donated over 3,500 pounds of food to Loaves and Fishes. The club is open to all students interested in giving back to the community.
