National
Honor Society
Students
wishing to apply to the National Honor Society must have the following qualifications:
- Scholarship:
3.0 unweighted GPA
- Service: Demonstrate
examples of community service, volunteer service
- Character: Demonstrate
exceptional character (teacher evaluations are submitted)
- Leadership:
Demonstrate examples of leadership (elected, non-elected positions)
Rising juniors (Spring
semester only), juniors and seniors who have attended Myers Park for at least
one semester are eligible to apply. Application dates are normally in October
for the Fall semester and February for the Spring semester. Applications are
reviewed by the Faculty Council, which consists of (5) teachers.
Students can pick up and
turn in applications in LA 5. Students should listen for an announcement in
September/October and February.
French
Honor Society
The requirements for the French Honor Society are that the student
must have completed a minimum of three semesters of French at MPHS and have
an A- average (all A's or 2 A's, 1 B) There is no application. Teachers check
the averages and let the kids know if they are eligible. The
staff sponsor is Lynn Stultz, l.stultz@cms.k12.nc.us.
